Hi everyone.
My Name is Persis also known as “Pée” and I am 20 years old. I was born in Hamburg, Germany and I also grew up over there. My parents are from Ghana, so I have African roots that I totally love. I finished school last year and started studying in Kiel. I study to become a teacher for middle and high school.

I always
knew I wanted to work with kids and young adults in my future, especially
because I used to get a lot of positive feedback about having skills of someone
who could be working with kids and youth. My teacher as well as other people always
kept telling me that I’d be a great teacher someday. The decisive moment, I
knew I would want be a teacher was when I saw so many of my friends failing
their exams and losing their motivation, because the teachers already told them
they won’t make it either way. I promised myself I’ll make it better someday,
because everybody deserves good teachers who can be mentors, idols and people
to look up to and also good education. By God´s grace, my goal is to make an
open door to and through education without any prejudices or stereotypes,
because I know everyone can be everything as long as they work for it.
All that basically leads to my interests and hobbies that are: working with the kids at my Sunday´s School as well as working at my workplace which is an indoor playground for kids. It is really fun there. Apart from that I love laughing a lot, exploring new things, having fun, food, cultures, to dance, spending time with friends and family, wander next to beautiful places like sunsets or sunrises just somewhere where the Wi-Fi is weak.
Actually,
I´ve been to the United States once. I visited family in New York, Connecticut,
New Jersey and Massachusetts and it was pretty
good. I think being able to visit the states again is a great opportunity not
just to explore another state on the list of states in the US I want to visit,
but also to improve and expand my English skills. I am super excited about
taking classes at an American university. I wonder how it is going to be and if
there are many differences between the American and German system. Last
but not least hope to meet a lot of nice people and get to see nice places.

and may the stopping never start." –Jason Mraz
